Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, probably best known for being the founding member of experimental act Throbbing Gristle, has sadly passed away at the age of 70.
Cold Spring Records have just put out a collection of recordings in memory of Genesis P-Orridge. Justin Mitchell of the label had this to say on Genesis’ tragic passing:
We first spoke and wrote to each other in 1986, in 1987 giving me a Psychic TV track to use on the first Cold Spring cassette, and kickstarting a journey for me for the next 30-plus years, including many, many albums with Gen and he/r projects over the years. Irreplaceable, this world is emptier.
Pushing boundaries in music, art, and gender, Genesis was a driving force in the underground since the ’70s and, s/he will be dearly missed by many.
