Jona Nido shares his thoughts:
“This track is a great example of why we decided to release both the studio and live albums together. Originally, it wasn’t planned for the live setlist because the studio version has some really fast blast beats, and since the lineup for the studio and live performances was different, we couldn’t reproduce the song live with Luc Hess on drums.
“So, what we did was keep the same riffs, lyrics, and structures, and Luc Hesswrote a new drum part for the entire song. It gives the live version a more punk and -core vibe compared to the studio version. This song also features the most epic chorus of the whole album, including a very cheesy (but loveable) guitar solo. I think this song will just keep confusing people about what to expect from Trounce.”
According to the press release:
“Trounce is the new band of Jonathan Nido (founder / CEO of Hummus Records and guitarist of Coilguns) surrounded by illustrious musicians gravitating around the Hummus Records label (details below). The project was instigated by the prestigious Roadburn Festival, the European Mecca of heavy music commissions Hummus Records in 2022 for an exclusive project to present on stage this year’s festival.”
