Trust Records were formed to give seminal punk and hardcore records the home they deserve. The life-changing records of these genres sprung from DIY roots to influence millions of disaffected kids around the world.
Unfortunately, many of these records have been treated poorly as we’ve moved into the streaming age—they’ve become out of print, under-monetized, or not properly accounted for. As we continue to move forward in time, it’s crucial to keep their spirit and legacy alive and Trust’s mission is to ensure this music is available for all future generations while also getting the story right.
Since their establishment in 2020, Trust have immaculately reissued Circle Jerks’ Group Sex and 7Seconds’ The Crew on vinyl and digital and today have announced their official partnership with iconic punk and hardcore label BYO Records (Better Youth Organization) which was founded in 1981 and spearheaded by Youth Brigade members Shawn and Mark Stern.

Trust plans to work hand in hand with BYO to bring their 40 year old catalog (which includes over 100 releases from likes of SNFU, Bouncing Souls, Hepcat, The Briefs, Hot Water Music, Rancid just to name a few) to all digital streaming platforms in the quality they deserve.
Shawn Stern of BYO comments: “My brother Mark and I are excited to embark on this new chapter in BYO’s future together with Matt and Joe. They understand the importance of keeping the music and ideals of punk rock alive and available to everyone so we can all continue to inspire young and old with the DIY ethics that we have championed for over 40 years. And in these difficult and unprecedented times, it’s important work that we are happy to see them carry on in the same spirit and inspiration that fueled our vision from the beginning.”
In celebration of the partnership, Trust and BYO Records have launched a merch line available for a limited time. New designs from SNFU, Agression and 7Seconds, and many more, can be found here.
