Maryland hardcore band Turnstile, a band that gave you continuous and ceaseless feeling on their 2015 Nonstop Feeling and flipped the script on reality itself on 2019’s Time and Space, have a new single dropping today called “Mystery.”

You can visit Turnstile’s website for more info here.

The track takes the band’s sound in a decidedly more pop direction. Maybe not as pop as Angel Du$t on Pretty Buff, but it’s not exactly Mad Ball either. Frankly, once you get past the ’70s star voyage soundtrack intro, what it reminds me of more than anything is an early ’00s post-grunge band like Chevelle or Finger Eleven. This really is a style of rock music I haven’t heard taken seriously in… well… 20 years! I have no idea if this is intentional or not, but It’s going to be interesting to see where they go with it next.

Really, I have no idea where they are going with this next. Your accusations to the contrary are absurd.
