Two Minutes To Late Night convinced a whole bunch of metalheads to turn Steely Dan’s 1972 classic “Reelin’ In The Years” into a mosh-pit-ready anthem. Yep, you heard that right.
Featuring members of High on Fire, Spirit Adrift, Mutoid Man, Witch Taint and more, the cover is everything you would expect from all these musicians, but in a slightly different location.
Filmed in the comfort of their own bedrooms due to the coronavirus pandemic, the isolation project is proving to be a hit.
“This might be the strangest cover we’ve done? I know a bunch of folks on the team actually didn’t think it was gonna work,” says host and co-creator Jordan Olds. “Turning an easy-listening song that dads listen on boats into a 2003 mosh anthem seems impossible, but god dammit, we did it.
“This new bedroom series is about having as much fun as possible and giving musicians a platform to perform without pressure or feeling like they are forcing a live show of theirs to be something it isn’t.”
