To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Violent Femmes’ Why Do Birds Sing?, Craft Recordings are releasing a reissue of the album, complete with newly remastered audio, previously unreleased material including alternative takes and outtakes, and a complete concert from 1991.

There will also be a vinyl reissue of the original 13-track album available for purchase and featuring freshly remastered favorites from the album.

The band are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, and the recording of Why Do Birds Sing? had the band revisiting their classic sound, ultimately producing one of the group’s most successful singles, “American Music.”

Violent Femmes are also excited to hit the road, boasting an extensive, 30-date, U.S. tour, co-headlining with Flogging Molly. Find tickets here and the full list of shows below:
