Waterparks have released a new single, “Sneaking Out of Heaven;” this will be their first new single since dropping their infectious fifth LP, Intellectual Property, in the spring of 2023.
Housing thematic elements such as hyper-aggression and hyper-sexuality, Intellectual Property focused on frontman Awsten Knight’s internal conflict with (most notably) religious guilt.
While “Sneaking Out of Heaven” can be viewed as a continuation of Intellectual Property, the color scheme has seemingly changed from red to green.
Knight took to social media to post cryptic messages leading up to the single’s release:
“There are two sides to every story”
The single’s accompanying music video, created by Awsten Knight and Waterparks photographer Jawn Rocha, focuses on colorful visuals—epitomizing a notable Waterparks element—incorporating numerous color schemes into their body of work.
The Houston trio also recently announced a Spring 2024 North American Tour, with main support from Los Angeles duo Loveless.
