Femme-forward punk collective We Are Radio Noi$e recently released a new single called “WoManthem.” The band are a massive supergroup consisting of Emily “Agent M” Whitehurst of Tsunami Bomb, sisters Gwendolyn and Lucy Giles of Dog Party, Betty Carmelini and Jenni McElrath of Red Five, Shanti Wintergate from Solo and Play Date, and three members of 2000’s punk group Loball including Claudia Rossi, Lissa Grunfield, and JC Brandy.
The new single is a take on the Bouncing Souls’ song “Manthem” with newly rewritten lyrics. The track was produced by Wintergate, who is also the wife of Bouncing Souls’ frontman Greg Attonito. The song was released on June 8 for National Best Friend Day, with a portion of the proceeds going to nonprofits that support women in music.
