Western Addiction are releasing a new lead single, “They Burned Our Paintings,” off the upcoming record, Frail Bray, set for release May 15 through Fat Wreck Chords. Pre-order is available now.

It’s the band’s first time working with producer Jack Shirley (formerly with artists/bands like Deafheaven, Jeff Rosenstock, and Gouge Away) for Frail Bray. The record features great musicians like Darius Koski of Swingin’ Utters and Brenna Red of The Last Gang! Despite song titles like “Utter Despair” and “Deranged by Grief,” Western Addiction’s Vocalist Jason Hall describes the album’s theme as “Hope” and “Rejuvenation.”

Hall states:

With a cosmic shot of pure irony, our new record, Frail Bray, is about …hope. It’s easy to be terrible. It’s hard to be thoughtful, hopeful, and kind. Let’s try. The first single, “They Burned Our Paintings,” is about degenerate art in the 1920s and 30s.
