This weekend, Wolf Parade premiered their new music video for “Under Glass” on the Episode One Podcast charity stream Twitch event benefiting Restaurant Workers’ Community Fund. The video plays up a dark, body horror aesthetic inspired by the works of David Cronenberg.
“‘Under Glass’ is inspired by Canada’s greatest cultural export: David Cronenberg,” says singer/guitarist Dan Bockner. “The protagonist sits in isolation, their only joy in life is plugging in a bioport and interfacing with a psychedelic PS1 hellscape where they are loved and adored. Their body decays. They’re smiling.”
The video was directed by the team of Caleb Bardgett and Johnny Dunn, filmed by Thaddeus Bridwell, with special effects by Cig Neutron and video effects by Bardgett.
“Under Glass” comes from Wolf Parade’s fifth album, Thin Mind, released earlier this year on Sub Pop Records with Royal Mountain Records handling the Canadian release.
