Woods has shared the title track from their upcoming album Strange To Explain, out May 22 via Woodsist Records. It’s a breezy and shuffling bit of indie folk that feels like a soothing, slow breath.

Frontman Jeremy Earl sings gently but assuredly: “you can reinvent yourself so you don’t slip away / you know I have been there before every other day.” “Strange To Explain” sounds uncertain and almost lost, yet a constant pulse of piano chords and the shuffling snare propel it forward, looking toward something.

The band took a short pause between 2017’s Love Is Love and what will be their 11th, full-length album as Woods experienced members split across the coasts of the United States and becoming new parents. The title track, along with previously shared single “Where Do You Go When You Dream?” alludes to an album of light, folk, and psychedelia-tinged fare.
