Hot on the heels of  XL427’s January 2020 release of their Thee Attack LP, Poptek Records announces a remix collaboration between XL427 and Mensa Deathsquad.  The “Ideas” single was released September 24.

For those unfamiliar with the story,  XL427 is the shoegaze-leaning, melodic, dream-pop band of Andy Ingram, who is also a member Kris N., Jill & Micah, Second Best, Ruetschle, and the Poptek Records figurehead. He’s also a survivor of the West Nile virus. September 24 is his self-dubbed “I hate mosquitos day,” the anniversary of his diagnosis.

Mensa Deathsquad is the dark synths/electronics-based alternative solo project from Kansas City, Missouri-located Brandon Phillips (The Architects, Other Americans, Brandon Phillips and The Condition).
