In honor of Black Music Month, Los Angeles hardcore soul group Zulu recorded two new tracks as part of the Frequency x Spotify Singles collaboration. The band, who released their critically acclaimed record, A New Tomorrow, on Flatspot Records this past March, reworked an original instrumental track, “Shine Eternally,” and also contributed a cover of Slipknot’s “Wait And Bleed.”
For the revamped version of “Shine Eternally” the band gives the song an even funkier jazz vibe with a beautiful, mellow vocal contribution from fellow genre-bending artist King Isis. On “Wait And Bleed,” the band exemplify their own heavy take on the classic track and you can tell they had a fun time recording it.
Zulu will be hitting Europe and U.K. this month, including appearances at Outbreak Fest, 2000 Trees, and Jera On Air.
