We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Overgrow’s music video for his song “Bad Heart” (watch it below). The track is taken from his forthcoming EP The Name We Share, which is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2019 through Common Ground Records. You can pre-order the EP here.

‘Bad Heart’ is about the first time in my life where I directly acknowledged how I will likely die. Many of my family members have suffered from heart-related health issues, my father passing away from a heart attack being the most recent. This sparked a new fear in me – that one day, my heart will be the thing that takes me from the people that I love. This song is me talking to my dad about how hard it has been to shake that fear, and realizing that my health needs to be a priority, even if it’s easier for me to deny that I have something to worry about.
The video is a representation of trying to move on from that place. The character in the video is trying to leave any reminder of those thoughts in the lake. Sometimes overcoming a fear means taking accountability for the fact that you may not be okay, and doing everything that you can to fix that.
