Paisley Fields is a triumph in their new single “Over the Radio Waves.” A true rebellion against society’s narrative and expectations of normalcy. No stranger to the music industry, Paisley is breaking down the walls, and more specifically, the country music genre. As openly nonbinary, the country music artist shares his inspiration which also came from the drag culture.
As of the most prolific performers in the country music scene, his bold ideas came to life this magical montage. The merger of the two worlds is a rarity, but as refreshing it is to see the artist open their minds and respect the talent. This perspective also parallels the song “Over the Radio Waves” in that rodeo clown is respected but also may not be taken as seriously. While listening to Paisley’s music, you will find a deep connection to the artist.
This performer has come far in his music journey. The lyrics are subtle but profoundly explore notions of the human experience from expressionism and freedom of being exists in this beautiful track.
Co-writer Aaron expressed, “Working with Paisley Fields on the writing and recording of ‘Over the Radio Waves’ was life-affirming for me! They are achieving inspiring new heights as an artist on this track. It was a very special moment to be part of!”
This masterpiece was produced by Andrija Tokic at the Bomb Shelter in Nashville, and the accompanying video was filmed and directed by Kate Sweeney on location at a rodeo in New Jersey. The music is also surprising and light, sending us a message to not take ourselves so seriously and embracing one’s uniqueness.
