New Noise Magazine is extremely pleased to be premiering the track “Softboy Rock” from The Band Ice Cream. The track is an outrageous thriller of a song, biting aggressively with quick slashing guitars and a powerful voice. Take a listen to the tune below and be prepared for the upcoming record, Numbskull, out on 08/17 via Urban Scandal Records.

“‘Softboy Rock’ is a diss track. This one goes out to all those that have traded their friends and bandmates for laptops and synths. The ones that will spontaneously combust if they’re calculated-to-be-casual photo turns out to look just plain calculated. They were too busy brooding and smoking a cigarette out back to catch your opening set. If you happen to find one in isolation at a show, be sure to brush up on your knowledge of the four different reverb pedals on their vocals or else don’t even bother starting a conversation.” – The Band Ice Cream

The Band Ice Cream is an indie rock outfit of the highest form. They have scuzzy guitars, power pop hooks and a youthful tongue-in-cheek attitude that is spit out over the course of their sophomore album, Numbskull. The group’s 2017 debut, Classically Trained, documented the growth from a garage band to a national act. Their songs received critical praise from outlets such as Consequence of Sound and New Noise Magazine while the album was charting in both North America and Europe. After extensive touring the band reconvened to put together what would become their most focused and refined work to date. Numbskull is a culmination of everything learned over the course of the last year. It’s pristine production and no filler approach, coupled with complete emotional honesty, has allowed for a true indie rock masterpiece to be born.
