Short-lived darkwave project Catherdal of Tears, featuring members of T.S.O.L., are stoked to release their coveted, lost 1983 demo. It’s out tomorrow via Pine Hill Records, and they’re streaming it via New Noise first!
This four-song demo contains three tracks that never made it onto the EP and an early version of their summer ’84 banger “Black Emotion.” Pine Hill Records is proud to release this 1983 demo for the first time ever. With T.S.O.L. being more active in recent years than they’ve ever been before it’s more important than ever to unearth this gem of a project because it shows Grisham & Kuehn’s vast capabilities when it comes to crafting their art. It makes the listener wonder…. would T.S.O.L. have steered in this direction had the original members never disbanded?”
“After the label not being pleased with the songs, I stole the master tapes from the studio and drove them straight to KROQ. As I was driving away, they were already playing “Black Emotion” on the radio. It went on to be the #4 most requested song on KROQ in 1984,” says Jack Grisham.
