New Noise Magazine is happy to be premiering “Escape Rope” from Cherry Blossom. The opening moments of “Escape Rope” explode with a fuzzy distorted chord, dialing back to implode with Cherry Blossom’s defeated lyrics. The first chorus finds the Augusta, Georgia duo exploring the path of moving on from other people, “when I close my eyes I can’t escape the truth that I didn’t mean a thing to you.” These lyrics are shed at the closing of “Escape Rope”‘s gritty chorus. The closing of the song is a cathartic bend of instrumentation, closing the doors of the past. The lengthy track finds a way to utilize the band’s extravagant orchestration with an emotional impact meant to leave people in a state of reflection. “Escape Rope” is off Cherry Blossom’s upcoming EP Belvedere, out April 30th via Santa Pogue Media.
“‘Escape Rope’ for me captures the feeling of the end of a relationship. Whether that be a friendship or significant other. No one wants to be tossed in with all of the other people in the past, but remembered for everything you went through together. Everyone wants the time and effort to mean something in the end, but you can’t change the way people feel.”
