Video Premiere: Decades In – “Silver Linings (Somebody Else)”

Decades In band 2017

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Decades In’s new music video for their song “Silver Linings (Somebody Else)” – watch it below. The track is taken from the band’s debut self-titled full length album, which is available for download/stream through iTunes and Spotify, as well as physically through the band’s webstore.

Decades In drummer Michael Heffernan comments:

“Releasing the song ‘Silverlinings’ as a single is a risk for us to take as a band. It features all singing vocals, something we haven’t done in our career since we were teenagers.

The music was written by our singer Daniel, and he and I co-wrote the lyrics. The concept for the song began with the lyric ‘this is for somebody else,’ which didn’t have a specific meaning until it morphed into a song about past relationships. It became about learning a lesson from every negative relationship you’ve had.

When it comes to music videos I like to take a ‘big swing’ conceptually. ‘Silverlinings’ is no exception. After doing a war theme in our last video for ‘Buried Under,’ I wanted ‘Silverlinings’ to have a completely different feel. It pays homage to the pop punk videos of the 90s and early 2000s.

Likewise, the song is such a stark contrast from the rest of the album, it’s fitting for the video to align with the risks the song takes.”
