Future Silence are releasing their self-titled, debut EP September 16. Get stoked with this new video for “Near Miss!”
“The Near Miss” was recorded in Chicago by Balthazar de Ley. Chicago’s Future Silence is Kirk McMahon (guitars, keyboards), Rosie Schubert (drums), and Shannon Roberts (lyrics/vocals). Future Silence is on the long-standing Australian label Half A Cow Records.
“I filmed this video at my favorite buildings all over the United States. Detroit, Baltimore, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C.,” Roberts says. “The bulk of it was filmed at home in Chicago. There’s a shot from on top of the Empire State Building looking at the Chrysler Building through one of those little viewers they have up there. It was so cold that night. I have always found architecture to be incredibly calming. In our disposable society, I especially find peace in some of these structures that manage to endure as the course of human history plays out before them.”
Snag the album on Bandcamp or through Half a Cow Records.
