New Noise Magazine is bringing the single “A Lifetime On The Phone” by If It Kills You. The single is off of the upcoming split between the band and Songs For Snakes, which will be released on December 9th. That same day the EP release show is happening at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco, CA. “A Lifetime On The Phone” hits hard with their wall of distorted guitars taking charge of the song, hovering over a slick rhythmic tension. The vocals cut through with power, giving the song dynamics and a bit more melodic presence. The song takes off towards the end with soaring guitar leads and rolling drum patterns. If It Kills You have released a must hear track, which can be found exclusively below.
“‘A Lifetime On The Phone’ stemmed from a love-hate relationship with social media and all the other operating norms imposed on a post internet band. The song was originally demo’d right before our original drummer left. We liked the takes and ended up building on it. By the time we found our new drummer the song was finished and we were making plans to release it with our friends in Songs For Snakes.” – If It Kills You
If It Kills You hits the studio with Scott Evans of Anti-sleep Audio to record their new batch of hard hitting tracks.
Songs For Snakes just wrapped up the mixing process of their new full length record “Crystal Vapour Figure”with J Robbins of Magpie Recording Studios.
