New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the premiere of the new Acoustic EP by Locals Only. The lyrical content that accompanies the music is personal, full of biting imagery with bright progressions. The pop-punk energy is still felt in these songs, even stripped down to their bones. “You’re Sick” is full of dynamics and syncopation, even for the song riding an acoustic breath of air. The vocal delivery is fantastic across the entire EP, full of emotionally cuts that feel like a weight off the chest. This re-imagining of Locals Only’s tracks showcases the bands detailed and varied writing style, able to perform the songs with wonderful glee. This wonderful EP was birthed by fans and this is the band’s gift, and a wonderful one for the holidays it is.

“Over the summer, we were playing different acoustic versions of our songs almost every day and though we always viewed ourselves as a relatively high-energy band, we sort of fell in love with the way the songs sounded broken down to bare-bones. When we decided to actually record them, I wanted to self-produce the EP and give myself plenty of time to really experiment with different sounds and instruments. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if we’d be releasing acoustic songs, I would have said ‘Hell no! We’re here to fucking rock!’ but I ended up falling in love with what we’ve created here.”

This is a rock n' roll takeover.
