Today, we are premiering the video for “I’m A Machine,” one of the stand-out tracks on the new Anita Lofton Project album Brand New Day. Remember when you actually got to see bands play there instruments in music videos? Well, if you’ve been missing that style, you’ve come to the right place.
Bay Area veteran Anita Lofton has played a fascinating game of musical chairs over her career. Rarely does an artist move so freely through various genres. Exploring, conquering, then moving on to the next challenge.
Lofton started out as one of the Bay Area’s top and most exciting DJs, playing around the city and opening for large, national touring acts. She also wrote for the SF Weekly music section and worked at a radio station as an assistant to the music director. After establishing herself in the DJ scene, Lofton then formed the legendary band Sistas In The Pit, an all-black female punk rock band. Sisters In The Pit toured the world landing an opening slot for Iggy Pop and the Stooges reunion tour.
If that was exciting enough, seven years ago, she decided to create a new, exciting act and records music under the name The Anita Lofton Project. Anita is joined by well known Bay Area musicians Sharon Williams, Maurice Miles, Kevin Lofton, and Brian Hill.

Addison is reviews and online news editor for New Noise. She specializes in metal, queer issues, and dog cuddles.
