New Noise Magazine is pleased to bring forth the exclusive premiere of “12 Hours” by We Melt Chocolate. The song is a tripped-out wave of euphoric atmosphere. We Melt Chocolate mix instruments and pulses with care, knowing exactly when to explode and when to slow down. It’s an experience in itself to jam out to “12 Hours,” which can be heard below. The song is off of the upcoming, self-titled record due out on June 28 on Annibale Records, the label founded by Luca and Mattia of the acclaimed psychedelic band Go!Zilla.
“As it always happens with our songs, also ’12 hours’ was born during a jam at rehearsals; we usually start with a guitar riff, and everyone adds their parts without a definite plan. The final result in this case is mainly based on the bass, with a sound that reminds of 80s atmospheres.” – Guitarist Enrico Baroncelli
“[The] Lyrics are about a fight between my thoughts. A part of me is tired, bored, and annoyed, and the other part says to keep going. ’12 hours’ is the amount I sleep, both for physical need and also to escape life!” Singer Vanessa Billi
A blend of shoegaze full of sonic vibrations, the song is intense and languid like melted chocolate. Born in Florence, IT in 2014 from a group of friends active for years in the local music scene (Interzone, Evanicetrip, Scum, Smell of trees, Shades of blue), We Melt Chocolate deliver lilting, noisy shoegaze music, aware of the My Bloody Valentine heritage but also with a nod to bands like Lush and Sugarcubes.
