Video Premiere: Wounded Giant – “Vae Victis”

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Wounded Giant’s music video for their song “Vae Victis” (watch it below). The song is the title track from their latest release, which is available now through STB Records. You can purchase the album here.

The band comment on the video:

“Wounded Giant and STB Records present our magnum opus, filmed on the fly by our good bud Frosty from Black State Productions and paid for in five boxes of red wine (merlot to be precise). We call this the ‘Fly on the Padded Walls’ edition of ‘Vae Victis.’ Also featuring a few rare ‘Shirts On!’ sightings! Groovy.”

Formed in late 2011 as an outlet for the winter blues, Seattle trio Wounded Giant jams on all things heavy, psychedelic and dark. Standing humbly on the shoulders of giants, they’re unapologetically influenced by icons from Thin Lizzy and Hawkwind to Motorhead and the Stooges.

That said, this is a band who’s leaving their own mark as well, blasting forth a psychotropic concoction of sludgy doom, furious power and horror-movie noise rock that crushes like the misbeggotten progeny of Pallbearer and Unsane.

Wounded Giant knocked out an early demo with Tad Doyle, then followed it with debut album Lightning Medicine on Black Mess Records.  Their third offering, a split LP with Goya, sold out its first pressing on the day of its release.

New album Vae Victis was produced by Billy Anderson and has been given the deluxe multi-edition treatment from STB Records to commemorate its raging majesty.
