Balkun Brothers’s new album, Here Comes The End Of The World, mixes rock, thrash, doom, and punk all into one fast-paced adrenaline-covered rampage. The high-energy songs reveal the band’s versatility in the studio and their in-your-face attitude bleeds true rock n’ roll into the listener’s ears with every note.
The power duo’s latest body of work was produced, recorded and mixed on analog tape by legendary engineer, Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, Iggy Pop), at Electrical Audio in Chicago, IL and mastered by Bill Skibbe (Jack White, The Black Keys, The Raconteurs) at Third Man Records in Detroit, MI. Both Albini and Skibbe are veterans of the music business and have number one albums with a variety of artists including Jack White’s latest album Boarding House Reach. White even attended Balkun Brothers’ mastering session!
The brothers’ latest album is their heaviest yet. Always with heavy blues and rock undertones, the power duo have released their most relevant and powerful album yet. Working with two of the rock scene’s best engineers to cultivate a gritty sound, the raw unapologetic songs we captured on tape and brought to life.

On making the new album and working with the legend himself, Steve Albini, the Brothers offered the following recap of their experience:
“When we entered Electrical Audio Studio with Steve Albini, we knew this would be our heaviest album yet. We decided to pool together a group of songs that all had a similar energy and have this body of work reflect the intensity of the World around us at this time in 2020. To be able to record to analog tape and watch Steve Albini mix our songs live was incredible. His input was priceless and he brought our playing to a higher level on each track. Finalizing the album at Thirdman Records Cass Corridor in Detroit, MI with Bill Skibbe was equally as mind blowing. To have Jack White come into our session and work alongside his producer left a true stamp on our album.”
