Album Premiere: Dogs For Breakfast – “Suiru”

Nearly four years since their last release, the “Dogs For Breakfast / Bologna Violenta” split album, Italian noise mongers Dogs For Breakfast return with “Suiru”, a jarring dirge in 8 movements that sees the band further evolving into an animal all of its own.

The album represents yet another pivot point in the band’s sound, a further departure from the hardcore-metal focused songs of their early releases. On“Suiru” the group delve deeper, and darker than ever before. This vicious full-length may be the group’s quintessential statement of violence and despair made sonic.

“‘Suiru’ finally lands after a long break. In all these years we stopped playing live shows and we didn’t release anything new, however we continued to pour all our blood, sweat and tears into writing new material, which you can now hear in these 8 tracks,” the band says.

Drawing from not only the desperate noise and post hardcore sonics of the 90’s and early 2000’s, DOGS FOR BREAKFAST have mixed in the decidedly darker tone and presence of extreme metal, expertly captured by Dano Battocchio at O.F.F. Studio and Deepest Sea Studio, with mastering provided by Brad Broatright at Audiosiege (Obituary, Tragedy, High On Fire and many more).

“‘Suiru is a spontaneous, aggressive album that wants to instill a sense of cruelty, hatred and pain, those same feelings that mankind and its institutions often embody. For us it represents a new level of maturity and greater consistency within the various songs compared to our previous releases. It is also a record that comes from afar and has grown and developed slowly, especially after our hiatus. It shows our growth not only in terms of music and sound: the music took shape in a period of profound change, where life put us in front of trials that we had to accept and overcome in many ways. ‘Suiru’ is the creature born from these times of struggle”.

“Suiru” will be released on 4th October 2019 via Overdrive Records, Wooaaargh, Mothership Records, Shove Records and U’A!.
