Album Premiere: Kariti – ‘Still Life’

Kariti

Atmospheric sound alchemist Kariti unveils her full-length album Still Life, which will be released tomorrow through Lay Bare Recordings. The album was recorded by Lorenzo Della Rovere in Corno di Rosazzo, Italy. Production and mixing were helmed by Della Rovere and Ekaterina. John “Spud” Murphy mastered the record in Dublin, Ireland.

Ekaterina shares her thoughts:

“Still Life is an existential liturgy for the lost, the disillusioned and the questioning. These songs are the somewhat violent and unexpected aftermath of being galvanized into a reflection on human life and the way it is lived by most of us in the world in its current state. In terms of the sound and being heterogeneous as it is, making it at times was a trip outside my comfort zone, which I am very grateful for. I still need to process it, but I already know that this record changed me and I look forward to discovering in which way.”

Kariti

The word Karti means “to mourn the dead” in church Slavonic. Russian-born poet and songwriter Ekaterina founded the project as an emotional and creative outlet. Kariti has released two full-length records and a self-titled EP previously.
