Album Premiere: The Shitdels – Where’s Your Head

The Shitdels

After moving from Memphis to Nashville in 2015, Jordan Wayne started The Shitdels as a bedroom project with his wife, Katelyn, with many of the songs originally written for Wayne’s other project, garage/psych band The Blackberries. With Ryan Sweeney of Cheap Time on drums and Kiley Wells from The Mumzies rounding out the band, Katelyn ultimately became a part-time member due to scheduling conflicts and anxiety. Thus, Jordan, Ryan, and Kiley were cemented as, more-or-less, the permanent lineup.

Today, the Shitdels are debuting their new album Where’s Your Head. I think I pissed Ryan and Kiley off with this one,” says Wayne. “It was suppose to be just like four songs, but every time they would leave after recording a couple, I would write one or two more. Then we would get back in a while later and I’d have to break the news we have more work to do. But that’s what gives some of these songs their edge. Raw, unpolished, and unrehearsed.”
