Album Spotlight: asteria – ASTERIA VOL. 1

Asteria

Embracing anarchism and internet culture, the genre-defying, Poland-based, New Zealand-born artist asteria, aka Matthew Jones, is blowing up with the music’s frenetic pace and repetitive hooks. Serving as a follow up to his collab EP Cute Songs for Gangsters with 6arelyhuman earlier this year is the artist’s new 12-track full-length ASTERIA VOL 1, which we’re featuring today.

With sharply infectious hooks and pulse-pounding electronic elements, ASTERIA VOL 1  is an indulgence in intense musical pleasures.”This album is a consolidation of all of my most notable songs from the era that defined who I am as an artist right now,” explains asteria. “I wanted to put out a project that would close my current era and open the door for change and evolution in the near future. I don’t wanna be an artist that only does the same thing, the same looks, the same sound all the time, I want to constantly evolve and keep my music refreshing while I grow as both a person and an artist with my audience. I don’t know what these new beginnings will be like, but I know it will be remembered the same as this door that has just closed. You just had to be there, and everyone’s here now, so let’s go.”
