Album Spotlight: Nico Tortorella – born.

Nico Tortorella

Nico Tortorella is an actor known for his work on shows such as Younger and the Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: The World Beyond. But the music bug really hit Tortorella when he was starring on Apple TV+’s City on Fire where he played the frontman for a fictional band called Ex Post Facto. Tortorella contributed to the show’s soundtrack himself, and he took a lot of time to make it work the best that he could.

“Working on City on Fire awakened a dormant passion within me,” Tortorella shares about his experience. “It  provided the catalyst for me to not only express myself artistically but also to embrace my truest essence. The studio became a sanctuary where I could merge the worlds of character development and personal introspection, ultimately leading me to uncover a new facet of my creative identity.”

Much of Tortorella’s new album, born., is inspired by the pregnancy of Nico’s wife Bethany and the subsequent birth of their child Kilmer Dove. With a soft-electronic vibe and a joyous energy, born. becomes a celebration of life in more ways than one. The album comes just a few days after the release of his children’s book Olivette is You.
