Cult-legend punk band Toys That Kill haven’t put out a new album since 2016 and, with the members currently tied up in other bands like Clown Sounds, Con Shoal, and Jumpstarted Plowhards, it doesn’t seem like new material is coming soon. But here’s something to tide you over if you’re still waiting to get your TTK fix. Today, we’re spotlighting their new compilation album, Ex-Posse Vol 1, out now on Recess Records. Made up of a number of tracks from EPs and splits, alongside two previously unreleased tracks, the whole collection fits together surprisingly well considering that the songs come from anywhere between 2001 and 2020.
“This has been in the works for years,” explains guitarist and co-vocalist Todd Congelliere. “And by ‘in the works’ I mean it was just swirling around in my head. Finding the files and editing it all to sound like a cohesive album took some time, but I think it does the job well. It also has some unreleased tracks, one from the Sentimental Ward sessions and one from a full aborted album that we recorded but was dog shit. This song is pure kibble though!”
