The synthpop duo Your Future Ghost are the brainchild of Billboard-charting singer/songwriter, musician and actress Kate Voegele and the songwriter, producer, composer, and actor Michael Grubbs. Having met each other in their roles as actors on the CW series One Tree Hill, the pair started up a friendship and collaborated on a new music project over Zoom during the pandemic. Before you knew it, the pair were taking their music to the Art Basel festival in Miami to start sharing it with the world.
Today, we’re spotlighting the duo’s new album Impatient for the Dream, which is a collection of 10 lush, gorgeously dark and twisted pop songs that pull off the grandiose nature of synthpop perfectly. Tracks like “Oh La La (Animal)” express a primal spirit within all the electronic elements that come together to make this album. Check out the new record below.
