Punk is a wide spectrum of sounds, and now we get to hear two bands from opposite ends of that spectrum come together on one incredible live split. Side A features Northern Virginia melodic punk quartet Celebration Summer and their live set from FEST 2021, while Side B features the satirical humor of Florida-based werewolf punk band Wolf-Face from their live set at FEST 2022. Together, they offer up a brilliant portrait of their respective wild live sets all set amidst the backdrop of one of the most popular festivals in the punk scene.
Today, each band are premiering one track off the split. First up is Celebration Summer with “Fraud,” a delightfully energetic live track full of classic punk energy and a fair dose of melody, all with a powerful message behind it. “The meaning of this song can be summed up short and sweet: Believe survivors!” say the band about the track. Next up, we have Wolf-Face with “With or Without Boof,” a spooky horror punk love song with its own sense of melody and pop hooks amidst the frenetic energy. “This song is about my main squeeze Boof who loves me for who I am and encourages me to tell coach and anyone else trying to exploit me to fuck off,” says Wolf-Face’s Michael J.
