Melodic death metal act Vile Form are sharing their new EP, Death, the follow-up to their 2024 debut EP Unending. Death was mixed and mastered at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ, by Kevin Antreassian.

Each of the three songs from the EP depicts a different kind of animal or creature and the way it hunts, murders, and devours its prey. The three animals are: The dog, the bat, and the human.
Bass player/singer Paul Herzog shares his thoughts:
“One of our goals with Vile Form was to create the type of death metal that emulates and morphs into the soundtrack of a slasher movie chase scene.”

Guitarist Jason Herrmann also shares his thoughts:
”Of course Vile Form is a very important project to me as a lifelong metalhead. It’s been 10 years since I’ve focused on an aggressive project. Both creatively and cathartically, it is something I really needed. I worked very hard on collaborating with the guys to arrange a series of songs that communicates each of our styles and strengths.”
“Josh (drums) and I have spent the last decade or so primarily playing fusion, funk and jazz. Prior to Vile Form, Paul and Jeff were crushing it in their grindcore band Die Choking playing short, chaotic songs. So, when everyone brings their ideas to the table it can initially seem challenging to arrange the parts into something cohesive. Ultimately, this actually ends up being our greatest strength. Synthesizing the different approaches to death metal that we all have is what makes our sound distinctive and unique. As the songs come together, I make sure everyone’s strengths are represented, the attitude of the music is what we want, and that every note of every riff counts and has real purpose.
“I can say that we’ve put something together that we are all 100% passionate about and super proud of. It’s the kind of death metal that we love and want to hear.”
