Pop-punk indie-rockers winterforever release their EP, Home Feels Like A Luxury Hotel, for Heading East Records on January 16.

The Boise-based band has previously released three singles that really prove their ability to tell a story with their music.  Singer Corey Hugo says, “The songs keep circling back to the same recurring theme of feeling out of place … constantly feeling like a visitor in your family home.”  One especially stirring moment on the EP is with the last song ‘Soft Teeth.’  The previously unreleased track deals with the death of a best friend and the lyrics hit as hard as the music does.  The band are planning a tour out to the East Coast this spring.

Hugo also offers, “Home Feels Like A Luxury Hotel is a collection of songs that keep circling back to the same recurring theme; feeling out of place. We think everyone has felt it at one point or another, from starting off a year trying to force hopefulness, constantly feeling like a visitor in your family home or the death of a best friend. Those feelings of loneliness, betrayal and loss have a way of sticking with you, and you eventually learn to move past them. But, if you look back, they still stick out like an ugly stain.”

Of the title, bassist Max Graham explains, “We were coincidentally living in a hotel, waiting for our bus to get fixed. Things were feeling pretty bleak. This helped inspire the artwork for the single and cemented the EP’s title Home Feels Like A Luxury Hotel.

Last year, winterforever did a tour from their hometown Boise, Idaho, to the Southeast U.S. and back. During the trip, their converted school bus lost a wheel just outside of Baton Rouge. The under-carriage slammed to the ground, but the band was safe. Unfortunately, the damage took several days to repair. Fortunately, the band are looking forward to making up the dates this spring.
