Film Scene Premiere: Art of a Hit

Art of a Hit

If you had a taste of fame, what would you do to get it back again? That’s what the new film Art of a Hit asks, as it follows Ryan (Ryan Donowho), frontman for a late-’90s rock band who’s struggling to find another hit a decade after their rise to fame. His search to save his band from irrelevance lands them in front of eccentric music producer Charlie Dupont (Charlie Saxton) who takes the band to his millenia-old French chateau to record their comeback album, but it soon becomes apparent that the band are up against more than their fading popularity.

Today, the film is debuting a scene from Art of a Hit that sees the band landing their audition in front of Charlie Dupont and pulling off a lively cover of Jets to Brazil’s classic track “You’re Having The Time Of My Life.”

Art of Hit takes everything we love about the late ‘90s and early 2000s rock scene and jams it into a wildly creepy castle in the most beautiful place on earth: Dordogne, France,” share director Gaelan Draper and co-star/producer Charlie Saxton about the film. “It’s funny, scary, messed up and honest—a story about what it’s like to be in a band and the insane fears of trying to make it as an artist. If you love late 90s rock, if you loved being in a band, you will love Art of a Hit.
