The Cult and Culture podcast was created by Justin Pearson, a musician possibly best known for being the owner of long-standing extreme music label Three One G, for being the bassist for bands like Dead Cross, The Locust, and Some Girls, as well as vocalist for Deaf Club, Swing Kids, and Planet B. Started as a short segment, Pearson expanded the idea of Cult and Culture into a full-on podcast after recruiting producer and bandmate Luke Henshaw. The podcast, now recorded at PengOne Studios in San Diego, interviews people from across different realms and genres from Lucien Greaves of The Satanic Temple to members of the San Diego Black Panther Party.
Today, they’re premiering their upcoming 45th episode featuring Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment. Kaufman goes over how the gross-out, B-movie giant has changed over the years, and the ways it’s stayed the same. It’s an oddly illuminating look into the popular movie studio. Check out the episode below.
