New Noise Magazine is pleased to host the I Like It Session for “King of the Castle” by Award Show. Award Show is a Buffalo based slowcore band consisting of Nate Ward and Kevin Stuitje. Taking influence from bands such as Duster and Attic Abasement, Award Show maintains a mellow atmosphere and draws listeners in with catchy repeating melodies before breaking into suppressed manic episodes of blaring sound and dissonance. With quiet lyrics that focus on themes of self reflection and apathy towards life’s experiences, Award Show build stories of heartbreak and lost memories as time endlessly presses forward only able to view life through a retrospective lens. Award Show released their debut self-titled EP in 2017, and are currently in the process of recording the follow up to be released in 2018.
