“When I booked time to record these songs, I was at a point where I didn’t know if I really had anything to say,” Lind admits. “Learning the songs with Andrew and Jesse and then reinterpreting them with their styles really refocused me on bringing the words and melodies up a level. The guys already stepped up the music. I couldn’t phone it in. Andrew and Jesse pulled me out of a rut I was in and got my head back in the game. We went into this knowing it would be an album by Mark Lind and The Unloved, but so, so much credit goes to Jesse, Andrew, Jeff, and especially Benny Grotto, the producer/engineer. This was a really fun album to make. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. We’re just trying to make song memorable songs and maybe give ourselves a chuckle in the process.”
