Sonoran Rebel Black Magick craft a unique blent of Southwestern doom, and their new record, True Western Doom, embodies the dark and heavy sounds of the west perfectly.

Out today on New Density Records, chief songwriter Andrew Markuszewski is driven by his love or desert culture and his passion for metal. The new record features eight songs that run the spectrum of emotions and sounds.

“It is the soundtrack to a dream of a western world where time is a flat circle and cutthroat realities cement to later break way to an ethereal and occult truth,” he says.

Using an acoustic guitar and building upon songs with added layers normally sticking with kick drum and hi-hat cymbals for percussion, using various vocal styles, and also in many instances using old analog synthesizers, Sonoran Rebel Black Magick bears the marks of influence from many genres. It’s bound to satisfy both fans of heavy doom and those who prefer a more classic influence.
