Dizeaze is a hardcore band from Toledo, Ohio by way of Chicago who were formed in 2021. The angry quartet doesn’t mince words much, creating down and dirty hardcore with edge and bravado. Today they’re debuting a new two-track single witht he songs “Genie” and “8 Ball,” the latter of which includes a guest appearance from Chris Cesarini of Street Power.
“Justin wrote this as an angry song on purpose, so I meditated on a couple things that made me angry,” says the band’s lead vocalist, Meg. “Nothing made me angrier than white supremacy and the white supremacists that survive and thrive around me. I thought about the fake ass BLM ‘activists’ who used George Floyd as a social prop and have been silent on black issues ever since, and about all the people who talk all day about how they’re not racist and would go to xyz to fight against white supremacy but truly ain’t about shit. This song is a very straightforward conclusion to that.”
Then regarding the single’s title track “8 Ball,” Meg continues: “This song is about what it feels like to lose a friend to bullshit. Having to watch them make bad choices and ruin their lives and try to ruin yours too. Justin and I basically wrote this one together, we have different real life experience that inspired us. Even though it hurts to lose people you really loved it’s never worth losing yourself to their BS.”
Both songs demonstrate a sharpened hardcore edge that cuts through the bullshit and gets to the raw emotion right away. This is hardcore at its absolute finest from a band that’s liable to be a name you should remember for the future. Check out the tracks below.
