Started in San Francisco in 2024, 37 Houses are a post-punk indie pop project that sublimates pain into creation. Inspired by artists like Pavement, Smashing Pumpkins, and Built to Spill, singer Erin Sydney infuses powerful vocals into the poetically pedestrian lyrics and poignant music written by her husband, Jeremy Rosenblum. Made up of long-standing musicians, 37 Houses are a creative family who channel their energy into wall-of-sound performances that create palpable impact. Above all, 37 Houses are a beautiful mess.
“Helium” is the first of a series of new singles backed by reworked full band versions of songs from the band’s debut album, recorded as a duo. The B-side “Undertow” was recorded live in the studio in the full quartet lineup.
37 Houses’ self-titled debut is available on deluxe 2xLP and digital, released November 15.
