With their unique blend of hardcore with gangsta rap and G-Funk, Long Beach outfit ’92 have been blazing a trail for themselves since the release of their self-titled debut EP in 2024. This year alone they’ve shared stages with Kind Eyes, Headspin, Lie, Face Facts, Killfloor, and Piece of Life.
Today, we’re debuting the band’s latest single, “Cannibal,” which features a guest appearance by Adrian from Full Clip. Complete with hip-hop turntables and a funky beat, this track is proof that hip-hop and hardcore are a killer combination. Both genres were born out of revolutionary impulses, and they fit together perfectly here like peanut butter and jelly.
“’Cannibal’ is a song fueled by betrayal, rage, and the harsh truth that some will sacrifice their own brothers in pursuit of power,” explain the band about the new track. “The lyrics cut deep, capturing the raw emotion of being cast aside and left to suffer—only to rise back stronger. It’s about the kind of betrayal that shakes you to your core, the kind that turns trust into a weapon and leaves you questioning everything. But more than anything, ‘Cannibal’ is a battle cry. It’s the sound of resilience, of refusing to stay down, of embracing the beast inside when there’s nothing left to lose.
“Sonically, ‘Cannibal’ is pure unfiltered aggression, but it never loses the groove that defines ‘92’s sound,” they continue. “The track moves with an undeniable funk, keeping that West Coast bounce while hitting with the force of a sledgehammer. Every riff, every beat, and every word is designed to feel like a punch to the gut, carrying the weight of frustration, anger, and ultimate defiance. The song reaches even greater intensity with the addition of Adrian from Full.Clip, whose colossal vocals bring a whole new level of ferocity. His presence amplifies the chaos, making every line hit harder and every breakdown feel like a warzone.
“At its core, ‘Cannibal’ is about survival. It’s about taking the pain, the betrayal, and the lessons learned and using them to fuel something unstoppable. When trust is broken, when the world turns its back, there are two choices—let it consume you, or become something greater. “Cannibal” is the sound of choosing the latter.”
