German noise rock, doom, and experimental figurehead Arne Heesch is venturing off on his first solo endeavor, sharing the new track “The King Rises” from his debut album Demons Are Scared.

Heesch has a storied history in the scene, as a previous member of Ulme and a current member of sludge/noise outfit Treedeon with his partner, Yvonne Ducksworth.

Demons Are Scared features Ducksworth on most of the songs, with the general atmosphere of the record mirroring Heesch’s life, as things went more quiet and focused from 2020 to 2021. It’s a fully homegrown album, recorded by Ulf “Fluffi” Reinhard mostly in Heesch’s living room, featuring vocals for Ducksworth on many of the tracks along with guitar and keyboard work by Reinhard.
