Track Premiere: Banshee ‘MEN ARE TRASH’

After Rachel Knight experienced abuse and sexual assault while playing in bands in her local music scene, she decided to pack up and move to Los Angeles, where she spent her time creating her project Banshee, where Knight is the sole writer and producer.

In 2022, Banshee released her debut album, ‘FAIRY METAL,” which earned her high praise, and she became an artist to watch that year from several different publications. In addition, the songs on the album were heavily featured on various streaming platforms’ leading playlists, from Spotify’s New Music Friday to Apple Music’s Breaking Metal. And on January 13, Banshee held her first headline show, “Cult of Banshee,” which took place in Los Angeles and raised nearly $2,000 for the non-profit RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization.

Banshee is back to share a new single called ‘MEN ARE TRASH,’ and here are some words she gave about the song:

“The ‘manosphere’ is radicalizing young men at an alarming rate, glorifying violence against women, and teaching men that women are subordinate. They feel oppressed by feminism, especially sentiments like “men are trash”–– but “men are trash” is a reaction to misogyny. I’m so tired of men blaming their violence on women and expecting to be coddled. If you act like trash, you’re trash.”
