Track Premiere: Black Guy Fawkes – ‘This Radio’ (featuring Dave Hause)

Black Guy Fawkes

Black Guy Fawkes‘ fifth record, The Misery Suite, sees release September 19 via Asbestos Records (The Suicide Machines, Smoking Popes, Off With Their Heads) in the U.S. Grip it via Le Noise in Canada, and Bomber Music in the U.K.

Black Guy Fawkes (aka. Ian Robinson) is a magnetic force in the realm of folk punk singer-songwriters, with ethics deeply-rooted in the DIY music scene. With a unique and captivating sound, he weaves together the threads of heartfelt folk music and the raw, energetic spirit of punk to create a truly memorable experience as proven during dates supporting the likes of Frank Turner, Laura Jane Grace, Violent Femmes, Dave Hause, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, and many more.

The album’s latest single, “This Radio,” hits streaming platforms on September 1, and features an assist from Dave Hause. The track is an absolute earworm that is sure to be a future sing-along opportunity for those lucky enough to catch Black Guy Fawkes live.

“This is the song about something that I truly and utterly believe. Music has to power of saving lives and helping you find community. If it wasn’t for punk rock, I would be dead right now and I wouldn’t have the community I have today,” shares Robinson.

“One song, one record, or one artist can save and change your life. And on this song, I got to work with an artist who has changed my life, Dave Hause. I discovered Dave during my early 20s and have been a massive fan since. He and that revival tour scene really molded the way I write music. To work with him on this track was an absolute honor and a full circle moment for me. I’m really fucking thankful to have worked with him.”
