Austin, Texas-based Boss Battle pride themselves on their droning, fuzzy guitars, heavy layers of synths, and dual masc and femme vocals that combine to make something with the melodic heaviness of the Deftones and the haunting art-pop of The Pixies.
Today, they’re unveiling their latest single “Mammoths,” a heavy guitar-based rocker with mesmerizing beats and outstanding pop melodies. “Whenever we ‘write’ we make an effort to abandon any sort of structure and simply bounce parts back and forth with drums and amps at full volume and a recorder running,” explains band member Chico Jones. “There are countless tunes with the working title ‘fast one ‘ and most of them get trashed . This one had strong legs. So hit the play button and get out of the way.”
