Build Us Airplanes are a group comprised of veterans of Northern California’s punk, hardcore, and indie communities who decided they wanted some melody and wisdom with their spite. A well-crafted follow-up to their debut album, At the End of the Day, the forthcoming All Things Expire takes a raw and introspective look at the human condition with themes ranging from addiction, complacency, childhood abandonment, sex work, and personal responsibility to neighbors. Through self-reflection and honesty, the album captures the struggles of today and challenges us to confront the truths we often overlook.
Engineered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden in Oakland, California, the album features artwork from Winston Smith, who has done work for Dead Kennedys, Green Day, and George Carlin. All Things Expire sees release via Sell The Heart Records on December 6. Preorder it here.
Today the band share “Sinking.” Vocalist/guitarist Richard Russell says, “It’s a reflection on the feeling of helplessness over the situation in Gaza as well as the homeless crisis in our own backyard. Support your neighbors near and far.”
