Track Premiere: Cat Positive – ‘The Mark’

Cat Positive is an indie punk project centered around the DIY songwriting of musician Tyson Ballew from Bellingham, Washington, and is reminiscent of acts like The Weakerthans and Paul Baribeau.

New Noise Magazine is proud to premiere “The Mark,” from Cat Positive’s forthcoming album, The Star Thief, through Tummy Rock Records below:

Ballew has played with Kimya Dawson, Lemuria, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, Paul Baribeau, and many others.

On the track, Ballew states:

“The approach of Cat Positive has always been small and intimate shows at house venues, art galleries, clothing stores, and alternative DIY spaces. The goal has always been to give back to an audience the same feelings bands have given me.”

Ballew has been performing since 2001, marking this year as the 20th anniversary of performing. With over a decade booking and performing in the punk/hardcore scene in Montana before relocating to Bellingham Washington in 2012 the approach Bellew runs his own DIY label Tummy Rock Records.
